JAMMU, June 28: Live For Others-Being Helpful (LFO-BH) Foundation-an NGO today organized awareness programme on ‘Women Hygiene Implementation’ in a slum dwelling at Circular Road here.
Around 100 packs of sanitary napkins and masks were distributed during the awareness programme organized for young girls and women.
Arya Mahajan, vice-president of the NGO delivered an awareness lecture and emphasized on the importance of menstrual hygiene in women.
Stuti Sharma, NGO president said it is estimated that over 80 per cent of women across India do not have access to sanitary products during menstruation.
Vishal Singh, COO/Director of NGO said: “Our mission is to raise awareness on gender issues. Through our programmes, we teach young girls that their menstrual cycles are natural, a sign of good reproductive health and is something they have in common with girls in countries worldwide.”
Jyoti Sharma a volunteer of the NGO also spoke on the occasion.
Volunteers present on this occasion were Abhinandan Sharma, Sourav Singh and others.
