UDHAMPUR, Jan 16: J&K Science, Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science & Technology, organized one day awareness programme on the theme drug abuse & drug addiction at GHSS Tikri.
The event was graced by Shruti Khanna, District Co-ordinator, Ashu Sharma Member DDC, BMO Tikri, I/C Police Post Tikri Manveer and other reputed personalities of the community members of Tikri.
The Principal of the School, Monika Karlupia, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to J&K Science Technology & Innovation Council, Department of Science & Technology and Health Department for their involvement in organizing the event.
Dr Bhanu Partap from SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal (Katra) was the key speaker during the event. In his awareness presentation, he made aware the young minds and community about drug abuse and drug addiction. He appealed to choose health, happiness and harmony over harm, with the pledge ‘say no to drugs’.
Dr Shashim, Medical Officer PHC Tikri, also shared his valuable experience regarding the objective of the today’s event.
Students of the institution actively participated in this awareness campaign. The event was aimed to give awareness regarding drug addiction and its ill effects in the society.
