Awareness-cum-registration camp for workers held at Sai Khurd

JAMMU, Mar 11: An awareness-cum-registration camp for workers under Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB), e-Shram and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PMSYM) was organised at Panchayat Ghar, Sai Khurd in R.S. Pura , here today.
During the camp, workers were sensitized about various welfare schemes and the benefits of registering under these initiatives, which aim to provide social security and financial assistance to labourers. Officials present at the camp guided participants about the eligibility criteria and the registration process under the schemes.
The camp witnessed encouraging participation from around 100-150 workers.
Online registrations were facilitated on the spot in the presence of Rupali Jasrotia, Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu, Shivika Sharma, Labour Officer and Sarabjeet Singh, former Sarpanch.
As part of the department’s efforts to extend the benefits of labour welfare schemes to the targeted population, particularly in border areas, similar awareness and registration camps will continue to be organised in the coming days.
Labour cards were also distributed among the registered workers on the spot, enabling them to avail benefits under the respective schemes.
