JAMMU, Dec 9: Jammu & Kashmir’s automobile retail sector posted a steady performance in November 2025, registering an overall 4.92% year-on-year growth.
Total vehicle retail stood at 15,597 units, up from 14,865 units in November 2024, according to data shared by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) Jammu.
The month reflected a mixed market response, with some key categories showing a decline while others recorded strong gains.
Two Wheelers category witnessed a downfall by -8.48%, with 7,173 units sold versus 7,838 units in November 2024. Three-Wheelers category recorded a -10.20% drop at 1,162 units, down from 1,294 units last year.
The sale of commercial vehicles fell by -7.19%, registering 942 units compared to 1,015 units in 024.
Construction equipment notched a healthy 10.71% growth, rising to 31 units from 28 units last November. Passenger vehicles emerged as the strongest performer with a significant 36.05% surge, reaching 5,951 units, up from 4,374 units last year, while tractors recorded a moderate 6.96% increase, with 338 units sold compared to 316 units in 2024.
In a statement issued, Sanjay Aggarwal, FADA Jammu Chairperson said, “The overall performance defied traditional post-festive trends. November-25 defied the conventional post-festive slowdown, delivering a resilient performance despite an unusually high comparative base. Most festive registrations were completed in October this year, unlike last year when Deepawali and Dhanteras fell later, resulting in high November volumes in 2024.”
“GST rate cuts and OEM–dealer retail offers continued to attract buyers, helping maintain showroom footfalls beyond the festival season,” he added.
With a strong PV performance and improving rural and urban sentiment, J&K’s auto sector is poised for a steady close to the calendar year, despite category-wise fluctuations.
