Authorities should remove confusion over Amarnath Yatra: Shiv Sena

JAMMU, May 25: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit has said that the authorities concerned should remove confusion over the annual Amarnath Yatra and urged Hindu organizations to pressurize the government for restoring the pilgrimage.
In a press conference here today, Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni said the silence of J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board officials regarding restoration of Yatra is causing confusion.
He said, there is no movement even on Yatra arrangements, snow removal from the track leading to holy cave and restoration of the registration process. “This apathetic attitude of the government and the Board is clear indicative towards the cancellation of Amarnath Yatra,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained adding, if this happens, the Amarnath Yatra will be cancelled for the third consecutive year then, which will hurt the sentiments of devotees.
Sahni said that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra is going on smoothly and almost all religious places are being visited on the condition of following COVID guidelines.
He said that Amarnath Yatra may begin from June 28 and appealed Lieutenant Governor to issue instructions for immediate restoration of Yatra process with strictly following the COVID guidelines.
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chibber and general secretary, Vikas Bakshi were also present in the press conference.
