JAMMU, Sept 27: The Crime Branch has filed charge-sheet against twelve accused including the then Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Girdawar & Patwari in Auqaf land grabbing case of Chatha Jammu.
The charge-sheet was filed in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu against the accused persons namely, Daljeet Singh, the then Tehsildar (now retired), resident of Nai Basti, Jammu; Som Dutt, the then Naib Tehsildar (now retired) , resident of Shiv Nagar, Jammu; Ram Saran, the then Girdawar (now expired) resident of Domana; Abdul Fani, the then Patwari (now expired), resident of Bhadarwah; Mukhtyar Ahmed of Chatha Gujran, Jammu, Tariq Hussain of Chatha Gujran, Jammu, Abdul Sattar (now expired) of Chatha Gujran, Jammu and five other accused.
The case was registered on the written complaint of Administrator Auqaf Islamia Jammu wherein it was alleged that the beneficiaries and the then Revenue officers hatched criminal conspiracy, committed cheating & forgery and fraudulently grabbed Auqaf land measuring 26 kanals at village Chatha Gujran, Jammu.
During the course of investigation, the offenses were proved against the alleged accused on the basis of sufficient documentary and other evidences and hence challan has been submitted to the court.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh said that charge-sheet of case FIR number 20/2013, U/S 420, 465, 466,467,468,471, and 120-B of the RPC, read with Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Police Station Crime Branch Jammu, has been filed in the court of law for judicial determination.
