According to a formal complaint received by Police Station Kotranka from the Block Medical Officer, Kandi Vinod Kumar Bhat, the incident took place during the intervening night of June 18 and 19, 2025. The patient, namely Reenu Devi, who was suffering from a postdated pregnancy, was referred to GMC Rajouri for advanced medical care. However, her attendants reportedly refused to shift her as advised.
The attendants, identified as Shamsheer Singh and Kuldeep Singh, residents of Bai Nambal, Tehsil Kotranka, District Rajouri, allegedly assaulted Dr Zia-ul-Haq, tore his clothes, and also physically attacked Shanaz Akhter, Junior Staff Nurse of the labour room, along with other hospital staff.
The accused reportedly disconnected the CCTV cable system and issued threats to the hospital personnel, thereby hampering the security mechanism and disrupting medical services.
On receiving the information, SHO (Probationer) DySP Shrafat Nawaz of Police Station Kotranka took immediate cognizance of the matter. Consequently, a case under FIR No. 67/2025 has been registered under Sections 132, 115(2), 352, and 324(4) of the IPC.

BMO Kandi also requested SHO Koteranka to provide security during night and SHO assured the same.
