RAMBAN, July 28: One employee of Legislative Assembly Secretariat died while three others were critically injured, when the Alto car they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into the gorge near Maroog.
Police spokesman said that four employees of Legislative Assembly Secretariat were critically injured when the Alto car bearing registration number JKO2AG 7616 in which they were traveling from Srinagar to Jammu, skidded off the road and plunged into the 150 meter deep gorge near Maroog. He added that the driver failed to negotiate the sharp curve resulting into the accident.
After getting information, police along with members of Civil Defence and Red Cross Society rushed to the spot started rescue operation and shifted the injured to district hospital, where one Prem Singh, son of Laxmi Singh of district Kathua failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries, spokesman added.
Later the three others namely Tarseem Singh, son of Dheeraj Singh of Sainik Colony, Jammu, Dalbir Singh, son of Mukhtiyar Singh of Gharota, Jammu and Dharam Pal, son of Mukhtyar Chand of district Kathua, were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where they were undergoing treatment when last reports poured in.
A case under relevant sections stands registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
