UDHAMPUR, July 15: Up in arms against denial of admission to them in Part- I of three year degree course at Government College for Women, Udhampur, a number of admission seekers held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The protesting admission seekers Staged dharna on Battal Balian road and disrupted the vehicular traffic for more than two hours. They raised slogans for demanding admission. The protesting girls dispersed off only after the College authorities assured to apprise the higher authorities of their demand for consideration of the same.
According to the College Principal, Prof S K Koushal, the college has only 12 class rooms and six labs and it was difficult to accord admission to all the aspirants. He informed that the College had already submitted a request to the higher authorities in 2013 for additional rooms, but there was no positive response.
