SRINAGAR, Mar 8: In a heartfelt recognition of young talent emerging from the Kashmir Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir BJP leaders including general secretary (organization) Ashok Koul and Minority Morcha president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, honoured Aayan Sajad, a prodigious teenage singer who recently received the prestigious Prime Minister’s Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for his soulful singing.
The ceremony which held here in conference hall of the Circuit House also witnessed the presence of chairperson of J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi and other Minority Morcha leaders including Sheikh Bashir (parbhari), Imtiaz Butt (general secretary), Amarjit Singh (vice president), Aakhori (vice president), Shalender Singh and Mudassir.
Addressing the gathering, Nalwa expressed that Aayan’s success is a testament to the prevailing peace in the Valley, a stark contrast to the turbulent past that had stifled the region’s abundant talent. He emphasized that despite Kashmir never having a shortage of talent, the previous atmosphere of unrest prevented young artists from coming forward.
Nalwa credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for restoring peace, which has paved the way for the youth to showcase their abilities on national platforms. “The emergence of talents like Aayan Sajad reflects the transformed reality of Kashmir, where peace has enabled our youth to pursue their passions freely,” Nalwa stated.
Echoing similar sentiments, Ashok Koul highlighted the unifying power of art, describing it as a universal language that bridges hearts and minds. He expressed hope that through his musical journey, Aayan would portray the beauty and cultural richness of J&K to the world, thereby reinforcing the significance of preserving the region’s cultural identity.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi affirmed that the youth of Kashmir possess immense potential, which, if guided and supported, can bring laurels to the Union Territory.
As a token of appreciation, Aayan Sajad was presented with a cash reward, a shawl, and a memento by Ashok Koul, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa and Dr Andrabi. The event concluded with leaders encouraging more young talents to come forward and assuring them of unwavering support from the administration.
