JAMMU, Aug 3: Former vice president of the Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aseem Gupta, called on BJP national president, Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Gupta conveyed his appreciation for the Union Government’s people-centric health initiatives, particularly highlighting the success of the Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
Aseem Gupta praised the Union Government’s vision of inclusive healthcare and noted that the Ayushman Bharat Scheme has made a transformative impact across the Union Territory. “A large section of the population in Jammu and Kashmir has already availed the benefits of the scheme. People from all walks of life, especially the underprivileged and the elderly, are expressing gratitude for this historic and life-saving initiative,” he said.
He further commended the recently announced extension of health insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh for senior citizens above the age of 70, calling it a “bold and compassionate step” towards ensuring dignity and quality healthcare for the elderly population. This move clearly reflects the Modi Government’s commitment to the welfare of our elders, Gupta added.
During the interaction, he also extended his appreciation to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for the effective implementation of flagship healthcare schemes across the country. Gupta applauded the role of J.P. Nadda, under whose leadership as Union Health Minister, the schemes are implemented in letter and spirit.
He said that it is heartening to see the strong continuity and expansion of these pro-poor and pro-elderly policies, which are taking the Indian citizens towards Viksit Bharat.
Aseem Gupta emphasized that these efforts have strengthened public trust and taken the country closer to the goal of universal health coverage.
