JAMMU, Apr 9: J&K BJP leader, Aseem Gupta today met Union MoS, Dr. Jitendra Singh in New Delhi and discussed several developmental issues concerning the Union Territory (UT) of J&K.
During meeting, Gupta urged the Union Minister to expedite the launch of the much-awaited Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, emphasizing its importance for improving connectivity and boosting tourism in the region.
He also demanded the introduction of an additional Vande Bharat Express between Jammu and Haridwar to cater the growing number of tourists as well as pilgrims.
Gupta appreciated the rapid progress on six-lane expressway corridors being developed under the leadership of Dr. Jitendra Singh, stating that these infrastructure projects will significantly enhance regional connectivity and economic growth.
Highlighting the tourism potential of the hilly areas, he proposed that the scenic Bani region in Kathua district should be developed on the pattern of Switzerland to attract tourists and generate employment opportunities.
The meeting focused on accelerating infrastructure development and unlocking the tourism potential of J&K.
