JAMMU, Sept 18: MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, visited Anand Nagar, Ward No. 41, where he held an interactive meeting with the residents to take stock of local issues and listen to their grievances.
The meeting witnessed active participation from people of the area, who raised concerns primarily regarding shortage of drinking water and irregular electricity supply.
Residents highlighted that the community has been facing severe hardships due to recurring water scarcity, especially during peak summer months, and frequent power cuts have further compounded their problems. They urged the MLA to ensure long-term solutions rather than temporary measures.
Listening patiently to all the concerns, Arvind Gupta assured the residents that their issues would be taken up on priority.
He said, “The people of Anand Nagar have always been supportive, and it is my responsibility to resolve their problems. Water and electricity are basic needs, and I will ensure that both departments work efficiently to address the grievances at the earliest.”
Gupta also directed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department to expedite measures for improving water supply. He specifically recommended the construction of a new tube well in the locality to cater to the growing demand and mitigate the issue of water scarcity in the long run. He further assured that the matter of electricity supply would be taken up with the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted service.
