JAMMU, Apr 7: MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta here today started the construction work of a cremation shed at Pounichak which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said the cremation shed was a long-pending demand of the people of Pounichak.
He reiterated that the government is committed to address public needs at grassroots level.
“Whether it is roads, drainage or essential facilities like cremation grounds, every aspect of civic life matters for us,” the MLA said adding: “Our priority is not just development but humane development ensuring dignity and respect, even in the most difficult times.”
Officials from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Junior Engineer (JE) and the contractor, were also present on the occasion along with former Deputy Mayor, Dharam Veer Singh Jamwal, BJP Mandal president, Anil Angral, Deepak Sharma, Rajesh Saini and a large number of locals.
