JAMMU, Dec 3: MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a much-awaited community hall at the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir premises in Ward No. 33, Rajpura Mangotrian.
The project, sanctioned with an allocation of Rs 49 lakh from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), is aimed at creating a dedicated space for religious, cultural, and social gatherings, significantly benefiting the residents of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta expressed his commitment to strengthening local infrastructure and responding to the needs of the community.
“This community hall will become a vital center for social harmony, cultural activities, and collective development. Our focus remains on ensuring that every ward under Jammu West receives equal attention and meaningful development,” he said. He added that the facility would help residents organize events with ease and promote social cohesion.
The event witnessed the presence of several prominent personalities, including the Mandal president along with his team, protocol in charge, Bawa Sharma, and former corporator, Surinder Choudhary. Members of the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Committee and a large gathering of local residents from Rajpura Mangotrian also attended the ceremony, expressing gratitude for the timely initiative.
Residents appreciated the efforts of the MLA for addressing a long-pending demand and acknowledged that the new community hall would provide a much-needed space for public functions.
They also highlighted that such developments reflect the growing focus on grassroots-level progress across Jammu West.
Arvind Gupta assured that the construction work would be completed in a time-bound manner and reiterated his resolve to continue working for the welfare of the people.
The foundation-laying ceremony concluded with vote of thanks from the Temple Committee. The enthusiastic participation from the local community marked another milestone in the developmental journey of Rajpura Mangotrian under the leadership of MLA Jammu West.
