JAMMU, Feb 7: MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta on Saturday kick started the construction work of boundary wall at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rehari Colony, Jammu at a cost of Rs 16 lakh from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), aimed at ensuring safety and a secure learning environment for students.
The ceremony was attended by the BJP Mandal president along with the Mandal team, school Principal, Jyoti Shastri, teaching staff, and students of the institution.
The event witnessed active participation from the school community, reflecting the importance of infrastructure development in educational institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA, Arvind Gupta said that strengthening school infrastructure remains a top priority of his constituency development agenda.
“Education is the foundation of a strong society. Providing safe and well-equipped school premises is essential for the holistic development of our children, especially girl students. The construction of this boundary wall will enhance security and create a more disciplined and focused academic atmosphere,” he stated.
Gupta further emphasized that funds under the CDF are being judiciously utilized to address genuine public needs, particularly in sectors like education, health, and basic civic amenities.
He assured that more developmental works would be taken up in Jammu West to improve facilities in Government schools and other public institutions.
Principal Jyoti Shastri expressed gratitude to the MLA for his timely intervention and support. Jyoti Shastri noted that the damaged boundary wall had long been a concern for the safety of students and staff, and its reconstruction would greatly benefit the school. Teachers and students also welcomed the initiative, terming it a significant step towards improving the school’s infrastructure.
The Mandal president and team appreciated the MLA’s continued focus on grassroots development and reaffirmed their commitment to work in coordination for the welfare of the local community.
The programme concluded with interaction between the MLA and students, reinforcing the message of inclusive and development-oriented governance in Jammu West.
