JAMMU, Dec 5: A week-long Winter Carnival organised by social activist Sahil Verma was inaugurated here today near Palm Mall, Jammu, by MLA Jammu West Constituency, Arvind Gupta.
The carnival features a diverse range of stalls put-up by traders from various States as well as those from within J&K.
A handout stated that from handicrafts and traditional wear to home décor, food counters and local products, the carnival aims to bring together cultural flavours from different corners of the country. The initiative also highlights the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, providing a platform for local entrepreneurs and self-help groups to showcase and promote their products.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, MLA Arvind Gupta said the winter carnival reflects the cultural vibrancy and entrepreneurial spirit of our people. “Events like these not only strengthen community bonding but also create opportunities for local traders and artisans to grow,” he maintained.
Gupta further highlighted the impact of PM Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, which is empowering small businesses and young entrepreneurs from across the nation.
The carnival has been thoughtfully curated to offer enjoyment for children as well, with fun rides, swings, games and interactive zones set up to ensure a family-friendly experience.
Encouraging the public to attend the carnival in large number, Gupta said, “Participation of Jammu people in this carnival with families and friends will not only make the event a success but will also support the hardworking traders and artisans who have come from different regions to be part of it.”
Organiser Sahil Verma assured that the carnival will continue to offer entertaining, safe and enriching experiences to the visitors.
