JAMMU, Nov 17: A significant step towards strengthening water supply infrastructure in Jammu West was marked with the inauguration of a new High-Capacity (HC) Pumpset of 50,000 GPH x 122 MH under MH (GIA) at CPS R22.
The advanced Pumpset, installed at a cost of Rs 26 lakh, was formally inaugurated by MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, who emphasized that the project will substantially benefit residents by ensuring improved and uninterrupted water supply in the constituency.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials and local representatives, including AEE Mechanical, Anil Dev Singh Katoch, AE Ravinder Pal Singh, JE Vishal Bharat, JE Akhshay Sharma, and JE Raghav Sharma. Their presence highlighted the coordinated efforts of the Mechanical Engineering Wing in executing the project efficiently and within the sanctioned budget.
MLA Arvind Gupta said that the pumpsets at the Jammu West constituency are being replaced after nearly 25 years, marking a major upgrade to the system.
He added that one Pumpset was changed today, and the remaining two pumpsets will be changed within the next month, ensuring that the entire setup functions with improved efficiency and reliability for the public.
MLA Arvind Gupta, while addressing the gathering, stated, “This Pumpset will significantly augment the water distribution system in Jammu West. Our commitment has always been to deliver better civic amenities, and this project is another milestone in strengthening essential services for our people.”
He added that multiple development works are being undertaken simultaneously to upgrade public infrastructure and meet the growing needs of the constituency.
The event also saw active participation from local leadership, including Mandal president, Kushant Prajapati and Mandal vice president, Karan Sharma, who appreciated the MLA’s efforts and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in resolving water-related challenges faced by the public.
With enhanced pumping capacity and modern specifications, the project is expected to ensure smoother, more efficient water supply to thousands of households.
The inauguration marks a forward-looking move in improving the civic landscape of Jammu West, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to public welfare and infrastructure development.
