JAMMU, June 23: A meeting of the Governing Body (GB) of Rogi Kalyan Samiti for Government Hospital Sarwal was convened today under the chairmanship of MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta. The primary objective of the meeting was to grant approval for various developmental works to be undertaken in a phased manner during the financial year 2025-26, aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure and patient care services at the hospital.
The meeting witnessed the active participation of key stakeholders, including Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Sunil Kailu; District Ayush Officer, Jammu; Executive Engineer PWD, Bakshi Nagar Division; Executive Engineer PDD, Canal Road; Assistant Executive Engineer PHE, Bakshi Nagar; and civil society representatives-Arun Khanna, Suresh Sahni, Veenu Khanna, and Babu Ram Jandiyal. Deputy Medical Superintendent and other hospital staff were also present.
MLA Arvind Gupta, in his opening remarks, highlighted the crucial role of collective responsibility in strengthening public healthcare services. He emphasized that coordinated efforts between Government departments, hospital administration and civil society are vital to ensure the delivery of efficient, accessible, and quality healthcare to the citizens of Jammu.
A wide array of issues was discussed during the meeting, including upgradation of hospital infrastructure, procurement of essential medical equipments, addressing manpower needs, and enhancing the implementation of existing healthcare schemes. The incorporation of modern healthcare technologies also figured prominently in the discussions. Members of the Governing Body shared their valuable suggestions and insights, expressing commitment toward enhancing the quality of healthcare delivery.
The MLA reiterated his full support to the medical fraternity and assured that all necessary resources would be made available to address their challenges and improve healthcare delivery.
Concluding the meeting, Arvind Gupta expressed optimism that the deliberations would translate into tangible improvements. He called for the timely execution of approved proposals and emphasized regular monitoring to ensure continued progress.
