He was accompanied by former Deputy Mayor Dharamveer Singh, former Sarpanch Pritpal Singh and Mandal president, Anil Angral along with senior officers of Irrigation Department.
During visit, the MLA inspected Lane No. 5 and other affected areas where residents have been living in unhygienic conditions for 13 years due to water logging, open drains and overflowing canal water.
A canal passing through the locality, which supplies water to farmers for irrigation, frequently overflows because of poor maintenance, flooding lanes and making daily movement difficult.
Interacting with local residents, Arvind Gupta expressed concern over their suffering and acknowledged that the situation has been neglected for too long.
Gupta directed the Executive Engineer to immediately prepare a detailed project report for the improvement of lanes and drainage in the area. The AEE and JE present on the occasion were instructed to ensure that the technical work is completed without delay.
