BARAMULLA, June 21: An enforcement drive was conducted here today at various routes under the supervision of ARTO Baramulla, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi. The drive covered areas of Baramulla town, Government Medical College road, Rafiabad, Chandoosa, Wagoora, Kalantra and Puthkhah road.
Checking of documents, monitoring violations of Motor Vehicles Act and enforcing safety norms remained activities during the drive and an amount of Rs. 31,500 was realized on-spot as fine during the drive.
Apart from this, documents of eight vehicles were retained for further verification and four vehicles were blacklisted for serious violations.
The ARTO said that objective of the drive was to enhance road safety and ensure strict adherence to traffic regulations. He added that such enforcement activities will continue regularly to deter violations and safeguard public life.
He urged the drivers to follow traffic rules sincerely and to always keep their vehicle documents up-to-date stressing that responsible driving is essential for ensuring safety on the roads.
