KISHTWAR, July 3: To discuss arrangements regarding the annual Machhail Yatra 2014, Deputy Commissioner Mohd Javed Khan today convened a meeting of all concerned District Officers and representatives of Sarva Shakti Sevak Sanstha Kishtwar.
In the meeting, the members of the Sanstha apprised the Deputy Commissioner that the Yatra will start from August 1, 2014. On the same day langers for devottees will also start functioning at various places upto the holy shrine.
The Chhari Mubarak will reach Kishtwar on August 18 and on 19th, it will proceed towards Gulabgarh Padder. On 20th, the Chhari, enroute to holy shrine of Maa Chandi, will stay at Massu, on 21st at Chishoti and on August 22, it will reach at Machhail.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the respective departments to ensure fool proof security besides the availability of drinking water, electricity, helogen lights, firewood, electric generator, medical facilities, ambulance, ration supply, fire extinguishers, temporary toilet facilities and sufficient number of vehicles for the devotees.
GREF authorities were asked to immediately repair the road upto Gulabgarh. Similarly XEn R&B was directed to repair the bridle path and short bridges from Gulabgarh to Machhail Shrine.
