Army soldier among 2 found dead in Samba

SAMBA, Oct 31: The bodies of two men have been found under suspicious circumstances in Samba.
According to reports, the body of an Army soldier was found under suspicious circumstances at his home in Kummi village in the Nud area of Samba district. Upon seeing the body, the family immediately informed the police. Police arrived at the scene, took the dead body into its custody and shifted it to the District Hospital, Samba where, after conducting a post-mortem, it was handed over to the family for last rites.
According to reports, the soldier has been identified as Shubham Singh, 25, son of Prakash Singh, a resident of Kummi, Samba. The soldier was posted with the Army’s 8th JAKli, in Leh and had returned home on leave four days earlier. He attended a wedding ceremony in his village on Thursday night. Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated further investigation.
In another incident, the dead body of a man was found in suspicious circumstances at his home in Samlah village under Sumb area of Samba district . The police reached the spot, took the body into their custody and took it to the District Hospital Samba. After a postmortem at the District Hospital, the body was handed over to the family for last rites. The deceased has been identified as Tarsem Lal, 36, son of Buta Ram, resident of Samlah, Samba. In this regard, the police have taken cognizance of the matter and have started further action.
