JAMMU, June 24: Army today handed over a woman from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), who had inadvertently crossed over to the Indian territory from Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district few days back, to Pakistan army.
The woman identified as Shabana wife of Maqsood, a resident of PoK, had apprehended the woman soon after he crossed over to this side of the LoC from PoK and found her to be mentally unstable.
Army authorities attended to her needs including food, clothing and medical aid and also deputed a lady Medical officer with her. Later, the troops informed Pakistan army for repatriating her as humanitarian gesture. After Pakistan army confirmed identity of the woman, she was returned to them from Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing points at 11.25 am today.
Army presented the woman new clothes and dry fruits while repatriating her to Pakistan.
