BHADARWAH, Mar 7: Under their four day campaign ‘Vishesh Chikitsaa Suvidha Aapke Darwaze Par’, the Army here today provided medical facilities to the residents of village Thanhala, popular as Glacier village, in Bhadarwah.
The village is the last habitation of J&K and borders with neighbouring Himachal.
It located at the foothills of Ashapati Glacier.
Spokesperson of 4 Rashtriya Rifles said that Thanhala Panchayt is mainly inhabited by BPL families and medical facility mostly remain out of the reach of these people especially during harsh winters days as the village reels under sub zero temperature.
“To provide them medical care during these testing times, a specialised free medical camp was organised as part of 4 days campaign ‘Vishesh Chikitsaa Suvidha Aapke Darwaze Par’ and the camp witnessed an overwhelming response from locals wherein around 225 villagers including females, children and men availed the benefits of free medical advice and received medicines,” the spokesperson said that adding three more such camps will be organised at Chinta, Dharamkot and Trown from tomorrow.
“They also examined our cattle and gave free medicines for them as well,” said Talib Hussain, an elder of village Thanhala.
