JAMMU, Mar 2: Crime Branch booked an army person for blackmailing a girl.
As per official spokesman, a written complaint was lodged by the girl wherein she had alleged that somebody started blackmailing her by sending offensive text messages through different mobile numbers threatening her that he was having her video and nude pictures which he is going to post on the social networking sites and if the complainant wants to stop him she should send him her fresh nude pictures and porn video of other girls particularly of Ramban area alongwith an amount of Rs 5 lakh.
On the receipt of complaint, a preliminary enquiry was initiated in the Crime Branch, Jammu and during the course of enquiry it was revealed through the CDRs and mobile locations that an army person identified as Gulab Singh Parihar, son of Sham Singh, a resident of Parihar Mohallah, Ramban in connivance with other suspects have sent the vulgar and offensive text messages by impersonating as the blackmailer.
The army person turned blackmailer after outraging the modesty of the complainant obtained her some objectionable photographs and video and was blackmailing the girl, the spokesman said.
A case under Section 354-A, 354-B, 354-D, 420, 467, 468, 471, 385 and 120-B RPC r/w Section 66-A, 66-D and 66-D IT Act has been registered against Gulab Singh Parihar and others for in-depth investigation.
