Army pays tributes to valiant martyr

SRINAGAR, Feb 28: Army paid floral tributes to Sepoy Karnail Singh, in a solemn ceremoney at Badami Bagh Cantonment here today.
GOC, Chinar Corps, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon and all ranks paid homage on behalf of the proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined to pay their last respect to the martyr.
Late Sepoy Karnail Singh was deployed on forward post in Gurez Sector. On February 26, due to sudden snow avalanche, he fell into deep gorge. He was rescued and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, Srinagar but later he succumbed to injuries.
He was 22 years old and had joined the Army in 2018. He belonged to village Changer Tarsooh, Tehsil Naina Devi, in district Bilaspur of Himachal Pardesh. The mortal remains of the martyr were taken for the last rites to his native village, where he would be cremated with full military honours.
