Jammu, Aug 5: Armed Forces of India yet again underlined their indispensable role in constructing a safe and peaceful society.
The year 2012 has been declared as the Year of Veterans by the Army. In this regard Army recently organised an Ex-Servicemen Rally today at Ukhral, Ramban to salute our Ex brave Soldiers, their families and the Veer Naris. The concept of this Rally was to provide all possible assistance to the Ex Servicemen and their families and resolve their day-to-day problems. The Rally was aimed to act as a link between Ex Servicemen and the organisation with a view to solve their problems.
Another important aspect of this Rally was to provide latest valuable information regarding pension and other facilities that the Govt declares from time to time. A Medical Camp was also organised to provide free medical treatment. Various stalls were put for benefit of ex servicemenincl youth employment, canteen items and ECHS (Ex Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme).
The function was attended by 35 Ex-serviceman & Veer naris from various parts of DisttRamban. Other eminent dignitaries from Army and civil administration were also present. These included Kulbhushan, BMO, Ukhral, Maj S L Khajuria, Dy Dir, Zila Sainik Board Doda, and sarpanch from the area.
Overall, the Rally was a huge success and strived to lend a helping hand to the image of our Army. This venture by the Army left an indelible impression on the people of Ukhral and adjoining areas.
