MENDHAR, Jan 30: A Naib Subedar (JCO) of Army’s Territorial Battalion has been arrested on the charge of kidnapping and rape of a minor girl.
A police officer said that acting on the basis of a complaint of the parents of 12th class students from Gursai area, the Naib Subedar Tahir Hafeez ( 163 TA Bn), son of Mohd Hafiz, resident of Shahpur in Poonch, was arrested by a Poonch police party from Ban Talab area in Jammu last night. The girl was also recovered and restored to her parents after medical examination at Mendhar hospital. His unit is presently located in Baramullah area of Kashmir.
The girl was allegedly kidnapped in a car from Gursai area on the evening of January 28 and taken to unknown place. The girl alleged that she was given some toxic substance and after that she was sexually abused. The police registered a case FIR No. 6/ 2013 and started investigation.
