JAMMU, Aug 17: Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon in Gharota area here, police sources said.
The deceased was identified as Gurvinder Singh, son of Bhajan Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur Punjab. He was posted in 10 Div stationed at Gharota.
After conducting post-mortem, the body of the deceased has been handed over to family members for last rites.
Gharota Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
