NOWSHERA, Oct 29: An Army soldier committed suicide by using his service rifle in Jhangar area of Nowshera sector last evening.
Identified as 22-year-old Vijay Kumar, hailing from Faridabad in Harayana, the jawan was recently inducted to 27 Rajput Regiment. His unit was located some where in forward Sher Makri area of Nowshera sector in district Rajouri. The soldier during duty, used his service rifle and committed suicide.
A Defence spokesman said that Army authorities have ordered court of inquiry into the incident. The body was sent to Nowshera hospital for postmortem which was conducted today. Later, the concerned police after completion of legal formalities, handed over the body to army authorities. It was dispatched to his home town in Harayana this afternoon.
