Army inaugurates tickets counter at Katra

JAMMU, June 24: A new ticket counter-cum-waiting hall, inbuilt with modern comforts and facilities was opened at Army Camp Katra, today. The counter, built to improve upon the existing conveniences offered to Yatris, was inaugurated by Lt Gen KH Singh, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps. Maj Gen Kulpreet Singh, General Officer Commanding, Cross Sword Division along with other dignitaries from Army were present during the event.
The new transient facility is fully air conditioned and has got waiting shed, washroom and cold water facilities for serving army personals, ex servicesmen and their relatives. A separate transformer of 150KVA has been installed to meet the power requirements for the new complex. The construction of the facility took two months and was undertaken by the Crossed Sword Division. Every year large number of Army personal, both serving and retired, their relatives, the troops deployed in Jammu and Kashmir visit Katra for Darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi.
