RAJOURI, Sept 7: Continuing with its humanitarian initiatives, the Topa Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles added a small chapter in its social development charter by constructing a ‘Martyrs’ Gate’ at the entrance of village Plangarh in Thanamandi tehsil.
The ‘Martyrs’ Gate’ was inaugurated on September 6. The ‘Martyrs’ Gate’ was constructed by the battalion as a small token of gratitude towards the supreme sacrifice of life in the line of duty by the soldiers of the village.
Another initiative close to the heart of the battalion was well-being of Veer Naris (war widows). A small initiative by giving a patient hearing to the social and family problems faced by the valiant ladies, through interaction between the war widows and the commanding officer was held in the youth club premises.
