SRINAGAR, Oct 7: As the Gujjar-Bakarwal community prepares to move back to their homes south of the Pir Panjal after having spent about four months in the Valley, the Army provided them the necessary medical care to facilitate their journey back, a defence spokesman said here.
The spokesman said the army organised a medical camp for them at Dubjan in southern Shopian district where the medical team provided free checkups and medicines to over 300 beneficiaries.
“We knew we would get this help from the Army as they have always stood by us. So when we approached them, we were not disappointed,” said a father who had got his daughter for a medical examination.
