There is no official word from the Indian Army on the Pakistani firing and the Indian response.
“There were incidents of small arm firing at some places on Line of Control initiated by Pakistan,” said a source.
“The firing was effectively responded to,” the source added.
Meanwhile, the India-Pakistan border at Suchetgarh in RS Pura sector of Jammu district along the International Border was today shut for the civilians.
Sources said the BSF has halted civilian movement at the Octroi Post in Suchetgarh.
This came after the BSF said that the retreat ceremonies were “scaled down” at Attari, Hussainiwala and Sadki along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab.
A fourth such drill takes place at Suchetgarh.

“The search operation by the Army, police, and CRPF special forces has been ongoing in Dudu-Basantgarh. It is underway to track down the terrorists on the run,” said a security official.
The operation is backed by aerial surveillance by a chopper and drones.
