Army Commander reviews security preparedness in North Kashmir

JAMMU, Jan 22: Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma today visited parts of North Kashmir to review the operational preparedness of troops and assess ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Rafiabad-Sopore sector.
During the visit, he interacted with formation and unit commanders and was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the area.
He appreciated the troops for their professionalism, alertness and operational efficiency, and stressed the need to remain proactive to effectively deal with emerging security challenges.
At the Joint Control Centre, the Army Commander held discussions with representatives of various security and intelligence agencies.
He emphasised the importance of strong inter-agency coordination, timely intelligence sharing and an effective response mechanism to counter evolving threats.
The visit reaffirmed the Northern Command’s commitment to maintaining peace, stability and security in the region through sustained operational readiness and close cooperation among all stakeholders.
