KARGIL, Nov 27: Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, today visited the forward posts in Dras and Kargil to review the security situation and assess operational readiness in the high-altitude region.
He was briefed on the emerging threat scenario and ongoing preparations for the severe winter months, when heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures pose major challenges.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma interacted with troops deployed along the rugged frontier and lauded their professionalism, high morale and dedication despite the harsh weather.
He encouraged them to remain alert and committed, stressing that their resilience is vital for maintaining peace and stability in the strategically important sector.
