Srinagar, Oct 20: Security forces today recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in the Kamalakote area of Uri along the Line of Control (LoC) where one infiltrating militant was killed yesterday.
Army said that the joint team of security forces neutralized one heavily armed militant and recovered 1 AK Rifle, 2 AK Magazines, 57 AK Rounds, 2 Pistols, 3 Pistol Magazines, and other war-like stores from the site. The operation was launched on late Saturday in the Kamalakote Uri sector in the general area.
Earlier, the Army said that “based on intelligence inputs regarding a likely infiltration bid, a joint anti- infiltration operation was launched by the Army and Police along the LoC in general area Uri.
They said alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire and the vigilant troops effectively responded and retaliated.
