JAMMU, Aug 3: Police and Army today recovered a consignment of arms and ammunition at the behest of a recently arrested Over Ground Worker (OGW) in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.
The OGW identified as Shabir Ahmad of village Salwah in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district was arrested recently by police and subjected to questioning.
During sustained interrogation, Shabir Ahmad disclosed that he was a member of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit. He took police and troops of 37 Rashtriya Rifles to a hideout from where one AK-47 rifle, 12 magazines, 160 rounds, one Pak SIM, one matrix sheet and one LeT posters were recovered.
Police teams in the operation were headed by Javaid Iqbal Mir, DySP Operations, Poonch and SDPO Mendhar Amit Bhasin under the supervision of SSP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain and Additional SP Poonch Yougal Manhas.
