JAMMU, Dec 11: Akhnoor Road Market Association (ARMA) today raised concern over the traffic issues on the Akhnoor Road.
Addressing media-persons here today, Puneet Jamwal, president of ARMA highlighted the frequent traffic jams at the Pencil Factory intersection during peak hours, which he believed are caused by the current alignment of the road.
Jamwal suggested that shifting the intersection to either side could help ease congestion.
He also pointed out that the traffic lights on the Akhnoor Road flyover are malfunctioning and required urgent maintenance to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Jamwal also expressed concerns over the rising number of high-speed bikes on Akhnoor Road, which poses a safety risk to commuters.
He urged the Government to install intelligent speed meters to enforce speed limits in the area.
The Association hoped these matters will improve the safety and reduce traffic jams on the Akhnoor Road.
