Srinagar, May 17: Society of Dental Surgeons, J&K (SDSJK) today said that amid the current COVID crisis, the Government should appoint Dental Surgeons to augment human resource across J&K.
SDSJK said that the current COVID crisis is huge and there is a significant dearth of health care workers across J&K.
Dr Imtyaz Banday, President SDSJK said that COVID has diversified job roles at the front line and back end and the unemployed Dental Surgeons can be appointed to serve the people and assist Government in tackling COVID Crisis.
“Dental Surgeons are playing a pivotal role in sampling, surveillance, control rooms, COVID triage and contact tracing teams currently. More unemployed dental surgeons if appointed shall play a pivotal role in tackling the crisis,” he said.
Dr Adil Wani, Spokesperson SDSJK said that various states across the country have already issued orders in this regard and unemployed dental surgeons have been appointed under Disaster Management Act.
“The issue has been corresponded with the Directorate of Health Services also so that a proposal is framed for approval from the Government,” he said.
SDSJK has appealed to LG Manoj Sinha and the FC H&ME Atal Dulloo to issue directions in this regard so that young souls are involved to tackle the covid crisis management.
