JAMMU, Oct 1: Extending support to ongoing strike of PDD daily wagers, Apni Party leaders today joined a demonstration at Dogra Chowk here and demanded regularization of the daily wagers and causal workers of the Department immediately.
Led by Apni Party and Trade Union leader, Ajaz Kazmi, the leaders and activists of the party protested in support of PDD daily wagers who were demanding their settlement of their long pending demands.
The PDD workers are demanding their regularization and release of pending wages. Speaking on the occasion, Ajaz Kazmi said that Apni Party will leave no stone unturned to raise the voice of the daily wagers and casual workers.
“These people run the PDD on ground even during the COVID Pandemic. The Government should regularize them and give them all the benefits that are being enjoyed by the permanent employees” said Kazmi.
He lauded the role of daily wagers in providing essential services to the people of Jammu at the times of pandemic putting their own lives at risk.
“The Government should recognize their services and release all their pending wages. Their families are facing starvation like situation due to non release of their wages since months” , he added.
Kazmi also demanded that Government should implement the Minimum Wages Act in J&K in the interest of the workers working in various Government departments.
