Srinagar, Apr 9: Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Thursday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre to fulfil promises made to people of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the Iran-US ceasefire, Bukhari said it should become permanent now. “People of Kashmir have chosen the path of peace, as is evident over the past five to six years. I want to remind the honourable prime minister to reciprocate the gesture and fulfil the promises made to the people, especially the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” Bukhari told reporters here.
The former minister said hundreds of persons from J-K were languishing in jails without trial.
“They should be nailed out so that justice is upheld,” he added. Commenting on the National Conference (NC) government in the Union Territory (UT), Bukhari said there “is a confusion whether this government exists or not”.
“For the first year, we thought they were still ironing out the issues but now 18 months have passed but none of the promises made by that party (National Conference) has been fulfilled,” he said. (Agencies)
