KAKINADA, Dec 21 : Glowing tributes were paid to the memory of former Prime Minister and BJP leader Atal Behari Vajpayee at a function held at the Raja tank here on Sunday in connection with the statesman’s statue installation.
The BJP state president PV Madhav who unveiled the statue, described Vajpayee as a great patriot, statesman and a doyen of politics .He recalled the country’s all round development during Vajpayee’s regime and the Pokhran test that got India a place among nuclear power nations. Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan was among those present with his party cadres.
“The development of roads is on par with foreign countries, especially the Golden Quadrilateral, the massive highway network connecting four major metropolitan cities, and the entire credit goes to Vajpayee,” he added.
Minister for health Satyakumar Yadav who attended as the guest of honour paid rich tributes to Vajpayee describing him as a great statesman and gentleman politician. He said the country witnessed all round development during Vajpayee’s tenure as the prime minister.
The Minister chose to retaliate against the YSRCP leader Jaganmohan Reddy for his adverse comments on construction of government medical colleges on PPP mode.
Earlier, the Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav was accorded a rousing reception on his arrival from Annavaram by the local BJP leaders and cadre led by district President B. Visweswerarao.
After unveiling of the statue by BJP state president PV Madhav, the Minister and other coalition parties MLAs visited the photo exhibition displaying the important events in Vajpayee’s life.
