ANTF arrests inter-State drug smuggler with 500-gm heroin worth Rs 3 cr

JAMMU, Nov 11: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu has arrested an inter-State drug peddler with 500 grams of heroin worth approximately Rs 3 crores.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding drug trafficking activity, a team of ANTF Jammu monitored by DySP ANTF Jammu Ravinder Singh Rakwal under the overall supervision of SSP ANTF Jammu Anwar ul Haq, arrested one Mohammad Parvez of Jaffarabad, North-East Delhi with the consignment from near RTO office, Narwal, an ANTF official said.
He was accordingly booked in case FIR number 03/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu and further investigation taken up, he said.
Quoting the preliminary investigations, the ANTF official further said that the accused was part of a larger network involved in supplying narcotics from outside the Union Territory to local peddlers within Jammu and Kashmir.
“The ANTF is working on identifying other members of the syndicate and tracing the source and destination of the contraband,” he said.
