JAMMU, Dec 19: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu and Kashmir has apprehended the owner of a Delhi-based pharmaceutical firm for his alleged involvement in multiple trafficking cases.
The accused, identified as Jatish Babbar, resident of South Delhi and owner of Sakshi Pharma, was arrested in connection with several cases registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu, an ANTF official said.
He said the accused is already named in FIR number 45/2020, 04/2021, and 06/2021, all registered under sections 8, 21, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Quoting preliminary investigation, the ANTF official claimed the accused allegedly misused his position as a pharmaceutical firm owner to illegally procure and supply psychotropic substances and is believed to be a key link in an inter-state drug trafficking network.
Further investigation is underway to identify forward and backward linkages of the accused, he said.
