UDHAMPUR, Jan 8: Another total knee replacement surgery was performed successfully in District Hospital Udhampur under Ayushman Bharat.
The surgery was done on a poor middle aged person who was suffering pain for last 12 years. The patient had consulted many orthopaedicians who advised them total knee replacement but the patient had not enough money to get his surgery done in a private hospital where it costs around Rs 3 lakh.
The patient recently came in touch with a patient who underwent total knee replacement surgery few months back in DH Udhampur and encouraged from the positive experience of the former, he consulted Dr Balvinder Singh (Consultant Orthopaedician) in DH Udhampur and yesterday successful total knee replacement surgery was performed on him by Dr Balvinder and his team comprising Anesthesist Dr Jyoti and Theatre Assistant Rajinder.
As the patient had Ayushman Bharat card, his surgery was done free of cost. The Patient was made to walk within 24 hours of surgery.
Pertinent to mention here that Dr Balvinder Singh is expert in knee & hip replacement surgeries, besides arthroscopic knee, hip and shoulder surgeries which is not even commonly done in big private hospitals but Dr Balvinder is doing the same in DH Udhampur free of cost under Ayushman Bharat health scheme.
