UDHAMPUR, Sept 27: Udhampur Police have detained another notorious drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
According to Police, Makhan Din, son of Hakim Din, resident of Narsoo, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur, has been booked and detained under PIT NDPS Act, after obtaining formal orders from the competent authority.
He is the 11th drug peddler detained under PIT NDPS Act by Udhampur Police in the current year.
The accused was found repeatedly involved in drug peddling and actively promoting drug abuse among local youth posing a serious threat to public safety and health. The detention order was executed today by the Police team of Police Station Chenani. The accused has been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, District Jammu.
