Another man from Jammu trapped in Iraq

JAMMU, June 21: After the news of Miran Sahib based Mechanical Engineer Rakesh Kumar trapped in Iraq surfaced few days back, another man hailing from border belt of RS Pura was also found trapped in troubled Basra City of Iraq.
Didar Singh, son of Mohinder Singh, a resident of Kolye, RS Pura is working as a cook at Basra City in Iraq for past around one year. He was married to Surjeet Kour and had two sons namely Sarabjeet Singh (10) and Palvinder Singh (8).
As per family sources, Didar Singh went to Iraq on 26 October, 2013 and was working as a painter/cook there.
They said that Didar Singh called his wife today morning at around 2 am and told her that the situation there is tense and he had lost hopes of coming back home alive.
“Didar Singh asked us to take up the issue with the politicians immediately, so that he along with other Indians trapped in Iraq could come back home safely”, they added.
Entire family of Didar Singh including his wife, sons and relatives were eagerly waiting for his return and appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help in bringing back their son, who was trapped in Iraq and cannot come back on his own.
“We hope that the Prime Minister will intervene into the matter and sort out the issue as early as possible so that my husband can safely return to his home”, Didar Singh’s wife Surjeet Kour said while taking to reporters.
