UDHAMPUR, Sept 10: Udhampur Police booked another notorious drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
The accused, namely Rafaqat son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Ward No. 12, Devika near Sai Baba Mandir, Udhampur, was actively involved in promoting the drug trade in Udhampur and was found to be supplying narcotic substances to the local youth, thereby posing a serious threat to public health and societal well-being.
The detention warrant against the said accused was executed today, in compliance with the orders by the competent authority. He has been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, District Jammu by the Police team of PS Udhampur.
This is the second such PIT NDPS detention warrant executed by Udhampur Police this week as part of its intensified campaign against drug peddlers.
